May 2 SHRMF Meeting
The South Hampton Roads Museums Forum will meet on May 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hampton Roads Naval Museum/USS Wisconsin. Check back for information about the speaker and program. We will vote on new officers at this meeting, and the board offers the following proposed slate:
President- Nicole Benson, Portlock Galleries at SoNo
Vice-president- Kathryn Fisher, Old Coast Guard Station
Secretary- Helen Kuhns, Portsmouth Museums
Treasurer- Odean Vanthul, Hampton Roads Naval Museum

March 7 SHRMF Meeting
The South Hampton Roads Museums Forum will meet on March 7 from 2-4 pm at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk. Our guest speaker will be Jeff Harrison, Chief Curator of European Art and Acting Curator of American and Contemporary Art.
We are currently seeking people to fill key officer positions next year. If you are interested in serving as president, vice president, or secretary, please email Amy Walton, SHRMF President, at amy@cacv.org. A proposed slate of officers will be presented at the March meeting. Voting will take place at the May meeting.

SHRMF/PMF Meeting- January 10
There will be a joint meeting of the South Hampton Roads Museums Forum and the Peninsula Museums Forum on January 10 from 2-4 pm at the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
The guest speaker is Cameron Kitchin, Executive Director of the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia and regional director for VAM. The roundtable topic will be summer camp programs.

November 1 SHRMF Meeting
The South Hampton Roads Museums Forum will meet on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, from 2-4pm at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center. Our guest speaker will be Jennifer Weiskotten of the Virginia Association of Museums. She will speak on the Virginia Certificate in Museum Management Program. Please encourage anyone who may be interested in this certificate program to attend the meeting.
Our roundtable discussion will focus on community awareness of museums and other nonprofit organizations. Come and share what your organization is doing to promote itself and its programs!

October 4 SHRMF/PMF Meeting
There will be a joint meeting of the Peninsula Museums Forum and the South Hampton Roads Museums Forum on Wednesday, October 4, from2-4pm at The Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe in Hampton. Join us as we hear updates regarding the Casemate Museum's future as Fort Monroe prepares to close. Share your institution's public programming with your PMF and SHRMF colleagues, and enjoy visiting this historical treasure.
Directions will be emailed to members within the next couple of weeks.
